Sterling silver pendant on waxed cotton cord. The focus of this pendant is a 25 mm wide x 18 mm high cabochon that is nestled in a bezel made from thistles. The 43.6 mm wide x 28.6 mm high pendant is suspended from a bail that is decorated with a thistle flower and is 11 mm high. So very Scottish.
Design Notes:
We were vending an event called the Highland Games, and this is one of the
pieces that was made for it. The title of this piece is "THORNS OF SALVATION."
The thistle is the flower of Scotland. According to a legend, an invading Norse
army was attempting to sneak up at night upon a Scottish army's encampment.
During this operation one barefoot Norseman had the misfortune to step upon a
thistle, causing him to cry out in pain, thus alerting Scots to the presence of the
Norse invaders.
We design each piece and build a 3d master model. We 3d print each individual wax, we do pull our waxes from a mold, so each piece has the original detail we built in the master mode. We created the artwork, it is exclusively for our use and it is not available anywhere else.
We do everything here in our studio. Once the wax is 3d printed, it is sprued and invested, cast in metal, finished and set. Each item is made to order and will take 2 weeks to 30 days to finish and send out.

Pyppee, Alfiler, Lleo & BubbaLou
For nearly 20 years we have been Hollywood’s “go to” jewelers for television and films. In our spare time, we design and make jewelry that we like to wear. Most pieces are inspired by our rescue dogs, Pyppee, Alfiler, Lleo and BubbaLou, but we also make items with other themes, like skulls, pirates, tikis, Vikings, tattoos, etc.
